Since their introduction, they were widely used as reference instruments for outdoors spectral irradiance measurements in the fields of Photovoltaic and Meteorological research. In 2001 the MS-700/701 was successfully introduced and adopted by researchers. Since then, the MS series expanded, with sophisticated instruments like MS-711 and MS-712 which cover a wide spectral range for VIS-NIR-IR applications.
