Socket Wrench Torque Sensor Rotating Type
RSS SERIES
Our RSS Series rotating socket wrench torque sensors are available in ranges from 10 ft-lbs. through 250 ft-lbs. and provide accurate measurements of bolt or nut wrenching torques. These sensors are bi-directional so both tightening and break-away torques can be measured. Unlimited rotation of the ball bearing supported sensor shaft allows monitoring of the total fastening cycle. The sensing element incorporates bonded foil strain gages of the highest quality, along with coined silver slip rings and two silver graphite brushes per ring for data transmission.

Slip Rings Separates
Separates are typically rings and insulation material assembled on an axis along with separate contact brushes. They are usually designed with flying leads. Once integrated, they provide electrical contact between stationary and rotating parts of a slip ring assembly. They use bearings from the host system and provide a more compact and economical solution than self-contained Slip Rings. The coupling of these items requires technical skills from the OEM and is suitable for applications that have tight mechanical requirements.

Rotating Dual Shaft Torque Sensors
RST SERIES
The RST- Series is our low range rotating torque sensors that are available in eleven full scale ranges of 10 through 30K inch pounds. The sensing element incorporates bonded foil strain gages of the highest quality along with coined silver slip ring and silver brushes for data transmission. The WR2, Flexural Natural Frequency, and Torsional Stiffness values as stated in the Dynamic Characteristics box below, are approximate and the tabulated data pertains to the torque pickup only, and does not include the effects of couplings or other rotating masses that would be part of a dynamic system.

Positioner HD
The Positioner HD is a two-axis azimuth over elevation positioner, for precise angular positioning with full spherical coverage. Designed for antenna and RF device measurement, the positioner is built out of low-reflection materials, with additional RF shielding for minimal multipath and improved measurement accuracy. A slip ring is included to allow for continuous 360° rotation in both axes. This system is highly configurable, with options for RF rotary joints, slip rings for data communications, and custom sizing. An external motor controller is included by default with the Positioner HD. This motor controller connects to a computer via USB and includes an easy-to-use graphic interface. Other command options include automated macros, manual control knobs, Python, Matlab, or Labview interfaces, or direct control via ASCII commands. The controller also includes a digital I/O trigger system, for precise synchronization with other devices.

Slip Ring Test System
This is a high specification tester that will measure many cable parameters. It measures cable resistance very accurately using the Kelvin 4-wire method. It also tests for shorts between pins at a low voltage. The next test is to measure insulation between connections at a higher voltage. This is carried out at up to 1500 Volts DC with resistances of 10 to 500 Meg ohms.
