Probes, Cables & Detectors
Probe has a mica window that has a thickness of 1.8 to 2.0 mg/cm2. This allows detection of alpha radiation as low as 3.0 MeV when in close proximity to the window. Beta radiation in excess of 35 keV and X-ray or gamma radiation greater than 6 keV can also be deteched. The detector is provided with a BNC connector. It can be used with most count rate and survey meters which accept Geiger Mueller (GM) detectors operating at 900V DC.

Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector
identiFINDER® R200
identiFINDER® R200 instruments are rugged, pager-sized Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detectors (SPRD). They provide full ANSI N42.32 Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) compliance and feature next-generation solid state detector read-out technology that delivers ANSI N42.48 SPRD compliance with nuclide identification. The R200-G detects and identifies gamma radiation and the R200-GN additionally provides neutron detection capability. Law enforcement agencies and first responders use the R200 during routine traffic stops or high visibility events and in mass transit or critical infrastructure entry control points. The OneTouch Reachback™ feature uses the latest advancements in Bluetooth® and web server technologies to provide large-scale situational awareness by alerting others before arriving on-scene.

Alpha Spectroscopy
Alpha spectroscopy is used to identify and quantify radionuclides based on the alpha particles emitted in the decay process. Similar to Gamma Spectroscopy, energy spectra are generated with high precision detectors and electronics and analyzed with special software. Typically, samples are measured following chemical separation to isolate the radionuclides of concern due to the complexity associated with correcting for these interferences with spectrum analysis software as is common for many Gamma Spectroscopy measurements.

NIM-Modules
The "dual channel" TDC'''' - Model 7072T - converts time directly to a digital output. They offer improved performance and linearity specifications compared to separate TAC and ADC modules. There is also the Wilkinson-type ADC, Model 7070 which is suitable for high resolution HPGe detectors. Our Constant-Fraction discriminators are still state-of-the-art even after a more than 20 Year history. The Differential CFD - Model 7029A - still offers the highest counting rate (>50 MHz) of any such devices. Our Pulse-Shape Discriminator - Model 2160A - can be used to separate neutron and gamma particles, alphas and protons, electrons and alphas etc depending on the detector used.

Gamma Detectors
In Gamma detectors, the gamma radiations produce electrons by interacting with the cathode material and the filling gas. These electrons ionize the gas and the charge carriers are collected by the electrodes. The resulting anode pulse is detected by a load circuit. The primary electrons are created by several interaction mechanisms:- Photoelectric effect- Compton scattering- Pair production

Gross Gamma Screening System
The Gross Gamma Screening system is intended for the rapid screening of urine samples for the presence of elevated radioactivity in a post-radiological event scenario. This system allows up to eight urine samples to be counted simultaneously in discretely shielded 3” x 3” NaI Well radiation detectors to quickly identify elevated radioactivity from personnel in the exposed population. This screening process provides critical information to Emergency Response Agencies and is accomplished with minimal operator training.
