Event Based Image Sensors
EVS
Event-based Vision Sensors (EVS) help alleviate this issue by only sending data from pixels who have detected a change in intensity. This allows them to minimize the volume of data that is transmitted over the sensor’s data bus while minimizing the processing resources need to analyze the image. On top of this, individual pixel autonomously responds to illuminance changes allowing the sensor to detect small and/or high frequency changes with lower bandwidth requirements.

Global Shutter Image Sensors
Global shutter sensors have a fast and high-resolution capture of the entire field of view. Each pixel on a global shutter sensor completes its exposure simultaneously. This feature allows them to freeze motion in captured images. Each pixel will not only have the same integration time, but they will start their integration at the same time across the entire sensor. This exposure and detection scenario makes this type of sensor easier to synchronize with a flash or other external event.

GMSL3
FRAMOS is the first company in the market to integrate Analog Devices’s new GMSL3 technology into an embedded vision environment. GMSL3 can transmit high frame rates (4K, 90 fps) as far as 14 meters with unprecedented efficiency. This interface is well suited for applications where the MIPI CSI-2 (D-PHY) length restrictions are not sufficient, while at the same time, a highly durable cable with low power consumption and low cost are essential. Camera developers can use the flexible FRAMOS Sensor Module Ecosystem to validate a variety of image sensors in the lab and in the field while taking advantage of the interface’s features.

Hyperspectral Imaging Sensors
HYPERSPEC® sensors are line-scanning instruments (sometimes called pushbroom) that collect reflected light through an image slit. One row of spatial pixels is collected per frame as motion occurs, with each pixel containing full spectral data. Motion can be accomplished in two ways: either as an airborne deployment (UAV, aircraft, or satellite) or stationary (where motion is accomplished beneath the sensor, such as a food inspection line). A third option is also available where pan-and-tilt or rotary stages allow a fixed-location sensor to scan a stationary object (such as a piece of artwork, or a mine face for geological applications).

IDS NXT
IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH
The functions of classic vision sensors - such as barcode readers - are usually strictly defined and hardly expandable. IDS NXT shows that there is a different way: the freely programmable platform is not tied to any predefined tasks. Instead, users can develop and install vision apps themselves and then change and set up various image processing tasks in a short time. App development does not require any additional specialist knowledge, because it hardly differs from the development of a "classic" industrial camera application. The possibility of installing different types of vision apps creates universal application possibilities in numerous application areas, for example in optical quality assurance, as an analytical device in medical technology, for surveillance tasks using face recognition or vehicle and person counting.

Machine Vision Lens
FUJINON HF6XA-5M
This new product, which has an external diameter of 39 mm and a focal length of 6 mm, is the world's smallest* Machine Vision lens which is used for industrial processes such as product inspection and measurement on production lines. HF6XA is a new lens which is designed for compatibility with 2/3" sensors with a pixel pitch of 3.45m (five megapixels). HF6XA is a FUJINON Machine Vision lens designed for compatibility with 2/3" sensors, which has coverage of approximately twice*** the current product, the FUJINON HF8XA, which offers the widest coverage range. In the frequently used environments of customers, the lens is compatible with the ultra-high resolution of 3.45m pixel pitch (equivalent to five megapixels when using a 2/3" sensor) under a large portion of the screen. Furthermore, for a wide range of installations and shooting conditions, the lens boasts "4D High Resolution"*4 performance, mitigating resolution degradation that typically occurs when changing a shooting distance or aperture value and maintaining a high level of even image sharpness across the entire image area at the ultra-high resolution of 4.4m pixel pitch (equivalent to three megapixels when using a 2/3" sensor). Despite being a wide-angle 6mm lens, the lens achieves the world's smallest external diameter of just 39 mm. The lens is ideal for attachment inside compact inspection devices with restricted internal space when wide coverage and consistency is required for reading product codes and serial numbers or for inspecting product shape and appearance.

Microscope Cameras
In contrast to digital cameras for normal photography, microscope cameras are built to meet the demands of high-end science- and research applications. For maximum light sensitivity they use large CCD or CMOS sensors for image acquisition. Color reproduction is often critical, why features like Microscanning or Color-Co-Site Sampling ensure optimal image quality. Due to the lack of a light absorbing color filter monochrome microscope cameras for fluorescence imaging are even more sensitive.

Rolling Shutter Image Sensors
Rolling Shutter devices start and then stop their exposure line by line. This means that that each line will be recorded at a slightly different exposure time. This effect is pronounced for short exposures which produces images with distortion due to moving objects and short flashes of light.

Spectroradiometer
FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res NG
Analytical Spectral Devices, Inc.
Higher resolution hyperspectral sensors yield greater precision for remote sensing classification applications, producing more information from every pixel generated in an image than ever before. To help maximize the full potential of these next generation sensors, measurements from ground based instrumentation need to meet or exceed the sensor’s spectral resolution. In the absence of this resolution equality, data is interpolated during post processing and vital spectral information can be smoothed and lost.

SWIR Image Sensors
Though NIR and SWIR act similarly to visible light, they are not visible to the human eye. As a result, these spectrums present valuable information which can show artifacts or damage that would otherwise not be seen. Click here to see some examples of how SWIR is being used in existing applications today.
